Perhaps he thinks it evokes ‘CEO of the USA’, whereas it’s more mid-ranking office manager, reminding people not to leave perishable lunch materials in the communal fridge before an extended holiday weekend.
And appropriately enough, this pre-emptive strike is proof, if it were needed, that the President is not actually the leader of the free world. He is merely, middle management - an unenthusiastic instrument of higher authorities and financial benefactors, just like the rest of them.
But as we discussed last week – the words these people chose to communicate with us are always significant – consciously or otherwise, and it is ‘attention’ that is key here.
DJT might well thank us for spending what is, after all, the currency of the time, on him. As Confucious Zuckerberg once (probably) mused; “where your eyeballs go, the dollars flow”.
As a student of Chinese Medicine, I am reminded of the concept of the Wu shen – the 5 ‘spirits’ for want of a better word that reside in our 5 organs and reflect the 5 phase cycle or Wu xing, the eternal cycle from yin to yang and back again that moves through the ‘elements’ of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
The Heart houses the Shen – our higher mind, connection to the divine
The Kidneys the Zhi – the will, our resilience
The Liver the Hun – our ideas, direction, decisions and action
The Lungs the Po – our somatic, physical experience, the body
But it is the Yi – the shen of the Spleen that deals with our day-to-day thoughts, intention, and … attention.
